About the role
- Architect, build and maintain the technology backbone of our research operations — from digital data collection platforms to analytics infrastructure and cybersecurity.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deploy mobile data collection solutions (ODK, KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, CommCare)
- Manage cloud infrastructure (databases, dashboards, file storage, automations)
- Build and maintain internal web tools, APIs and analytics dashboards
- Enforce cybersecurity, data protection and backup policies
- Provide L2/L3 IT support across the organisation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related
- 4+ years experience including cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and database administration
- Strong skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL
- Experience with BI/visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
- Familiarity with statistical/data analysis tools (R, Stata, SPSS) is a plus
- Knowledge of GDPR / Kenya Data Protection Act
