Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Agri Economics, General Agriculture, Economics, Commerce,  Agri Business, Agricultural Engineering, Water Resource Management, Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering, Soil Water and Environmental Engineering, Environmental and Bio-systems, Engineering, Biomechanical and Processing Engineering, or Soil and Water Engineering from a university recognized in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities 

This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

  • Coordinating development, implementation and reviewing of legislation and regulations pertaining to irrigation;
  • Coordinating development and implementing or irrigation Reforms;
  • Cordinating monitoring and evaluating of Irrigation policies and programmes;
  • Establishing irrigation databases and information management systems; and
  • Coordinating mobilization of resources for implementation of irrigation programmes.
