Job overview

The Interior Design CAD Technician at Lehem Interiors will play a vital role in transforming design concepts into precise technical drawings and visualizations that guide project execution. The successful candidate will work closely with our interior designers and project managers to ensure that every detail is accurately represented, from layouts to joinery details, supporting the team in delivering high-quality design outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction documentation using AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D models and renderings to support design presentations and client approvals.
• Revise and update drawings to reflect design development, client feedback, and site changes.
• Translate design concepts and sketches into detailed technical documentation.
• Assist in preparing presentation boards, mood boards, and visual materials.
• Create detailed furniture layouts, lighting plans, and joinery/millwork drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, industry standards, and Lehem Interiors’ quality guidelines.
• Maintain well-organized digital files, project records, and CAD libraries.
• Work closely with designers, architects, and project managers to ensure design intent is captured in all drawings.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to clarify specifications where necessary.
• Attend site visits, conduct surveys, and prepare accurate as-built drawings.

Knowledge, experience, & Qualifications required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of proven experience as a CAD Technician in an interior design, architecture, or construction environment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, Lumion, or other rendering software is an advantage.
• Excellent technical drawing, detailing, and visualization skills.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and interior design principles

• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed joinery, millwork, and shop drawings.
• Exposure to residential, commercial, or hospitality interior projects is highly desirable.
