The Role

As Instructional Designer, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of CLASSworks teacher training modules and related digital resources. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on producing usable materials for real classroom contexts. You will work closely with trainers and programme staff to ensure materials remain relevant, clear, and effective.

  • Adapt content for use across subjects, in line with CLASSworks programme design.

2. Digital content support

  • Develop teacher-facing resources such as slide decks, guides, and simple multimedia materials.
  • Adapt content for use across CLASSworks hardware, software, and connectivity constraints.

3. Training support

  • Support Train-the-Trainer (ToT) sessions by preparing materials and co-facilitating sessions where required.
  • Collect feedback from trainers and schools and contribute to material improvements.

4. Content maintenance

  • Support version control and organization of curriculum and training materials.
  • Update materials based on field feedback and programme needs.

5. Compliance

  • Ensure that curriculum and training materials comply with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and teacher professional development.
  • Practical understanding of KICD/CBE and competency-based teaching approaches in Kenya.
  • Ability to translate curriculum concepts into clear, practical teacher materials.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently within agreed priorities.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft 365 tools and other content creation tools.

Strongly preferred:

  • Experience working with teacher training or school-based implementation.
  • Experience supporting digital or blended learning initiatives.
  • Basic experience with multimedia or digital content creation.

What we offer

  • A practical role contributing directly to teacher development and classroom practice.
  • 1-year renewable contract, starting ASAP.
  • Gross salary: KES 90,000 – 120,000 per month, depending on experience and portfolio.
  • Staff medical insurance.
