Role Overview
The Indigenous Knowledge Engagement Lead is a voluntary leadership role designed for individuals passionate about cultural heritage, sustainability, and intergenerational learning. In this role, you will coordinate and organize knowledge transfer sessions between elders and young people, helping to preserve indigenous practices and integrate them into modern climate solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- As the Indigenous Knowledge Engagement Lead, you will plan and facilitate activities that bring together community elders and youth for meaningful dialogue and learning.
- You will design and conduct surveys to identify gaps in indigenous knowledge transfer within communities and use this information to guide programming.
- You will also collaborate with mentors, environmental mentees, and regional ambassadors to ensure indigenous knowledge is embedded in greening initiatives, mental health programs, and community capacity building.
