Our client, a leading company in the pharmaceutical retail industry, is seeking a Human Resource Officer to support its growing operations. This role is critical in ensuring effective HR management, compliance with labor laws, and fostering a high-performance culture that aligns with the company’s business development and retail expansion goals. The HR Officer will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training, and HR operations to enhance organizational efficiency and drive business success.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the pharmaceutical retail sector.
  • Support workforce planning to ensure optimal staffing levels in line with business expansion.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and company policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Implement and monitor HR policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and business objectives.

Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and organize training programs for employees, particularly in customer service and sales.
  • Work closely with department heads to design and implement employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinate induction and onboarding training for new hires to ensure seamless integration.

Performance Management & Employee Engagement

  • Oversee performance appraisals, providing guidance to managers on employee evaluation and feedback.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee motivation, engagement, and retention.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Assist in payroll processing and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage employee benefits, including leave and other company-provided incentives.

HR Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Generate HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and business planning.
  • Continuously review and improve HR processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple HR functions in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a retail chain or multi-location business is an added advantage.
  • Certification in HR (CHRP, SHRM, or equivalent) is a plus.

Gross Salary: Ksh 80k – 100k
