HR Manager role at Fast Choice, serving as a strategic HR Business Partner for Operations. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field with 5–7 years’ HR experience, including strong recruitment and operations support, and IHRM membership. Full-time, on-site role.

  • The HR Manager will be embedded within the Bellways Operations Department serving as a strategic HR Business Partner (BP). The role is responsible for aligning HR practices with business objectives, driving people strategy, and ensuring operational excellence across HR and administration.
  • The position provides dedicated HR support to Customer Order Manager (COM) Production, Imports, Warehouse and Logistics, with a strong focus on end-to-end recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, employee relations and talent development, ensuring the department is staffed with high-performing talent.

1. HR Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Operations leadership on all HR matters.
  • Align HR strategies with departmental goals and business priorities.
  • Support organizational design, workforce planning, and productivity improvement.
  • Provide HR insights and analytics to support decision-making.
  • Drive HR support across COM, Production, Imports, Warehouse and Logistics.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment (sourcing, interviewing, selection, onboarding).
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs.
  • Ensure timely hiring of high-quality candidates for operational roles.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline.
  • Strengthen employer branding within the operations function.

Onboarding & Employee Integration

  • Oversee structured onboarding and induction programs.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new hires into teams.
  • Drive early-stage engagement, productivity, and retention.

Performance Management & Appraisal

  • Implement and monitor performance management frameworks.
  • Support goal setting, KPI alignment, monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Track employee productivity and recommend improvements.
  • Manage underperformance and implement PIPs in collaboration with HODs.
  • Maintain updated JDs, KPIs and appraisal tools.

Learning & Development

  • Conduct skills gap analysis across Operations.
  • Design and implement internal training and capacity-building programs.
  • Drive leadership and supervisory development initiatives.
  • Support succession planning and career pathing.

Discipline &  Grievance Handling

  • Handle conflict resolution and grievance processes end-to-end.Manage disciplinary actions (investigations, hearings, outcomes).Ensure compliance with Kenyan Employment Act during cases.Involve MD only at the appeal stage

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Promote a positive work culture and employee experience.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and conflict resolution.
  • Drive staff engagement initiatives and feedback mechanisms (including 360° reviews).
  • Support retention strategies for critical operational roles.

Compliance, Legal & Industrial Relations

  • Stay up to date on Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with OSH, FKE and employment standards.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion and ethics.
  • Act as liaison with legal counsel for HR cases and disputes.

  • Ensure adherence to HR policies, SOPs and Kenyan labor laws.

Compensation, Payroll & Benefits

  • Support payroll processing (accuracy, timelines, and compliance).
  • Validate overtime, deductions and operational allowances.
  • Manage benefits administration and recommend improvements.
  • Support development of incentive structures for operational teams.

Attendance, Leave & Workforce Planning

  • Monitor attendance and leave to ensure operational continuity.
  • Maintain accurate trackers and provide monthly reports to HODs.
  • Align workforce availability with operational demands.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Ensure OSH compliance across all operational sites.
  • Promote safety standards, PPE usage and workplace wellbeing.
  • Drive staff welfare and wellness programs.

HR Strategy, Reporting & Business Support

  • Align HR strategy with business and operational goals.
  • Provide HR analytics, reports and workforce insights.
  • Support cost management, productivity improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement and Operations to enhance performance.

HR Technology & Process Improvement

  • Implement HRIS systems and automate HR processes.
  • Improve HR workflows and reporting efficiency.
  • Strengthen data accuracy and confidentiality.

Office Administration (Operations Support)

  • Oversee admin staff (drivers, riders, warehouse support, cleaners, security).
  • Ensure alignment of admin roles with KPIs and operational needs.
  • Manage service providers and administrative contracts.
  • Oversee office maintenance, repairs and facility management to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Coordinate timely repairs and preventive maintenance of office infrastructure and equipment.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, servicing, insurance and compliance.
  • Handle business licenses, insurance renewals and statutory certifications.
  • Approve staff travel, per diem and logistics coordination.

Exit & Separation Management

  • Manage offboarding processes professionally.
  • Manage exit processes including interviews and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance and proper documentation during separation. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or CHRP accreditation
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ HR experience, with strong exposure to recruitment and operations support.
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably supporting operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • A member of IHRM
