HOS – Irrigation & crop Protection Job AAA Growers
Job Goal
You will plan, organize, and supervise all watering (irrigation) and crop protection work. Your main goals are to keep the plants healthy, use water and fertilizer efficiently, manage pests and diseases, and hit production targets safely. Key Responsibilities
- Create plans: Build and run programs for watering, feeding plants (fertigation), and protecting crops.
- Watch for pests: Check pest and disease levels and take action quickly to fix issues.
- Study data: Analyze field scouting reports to choose the right way to protect crops.
- Lead teams: Supervise the workers who handle watering and spraying.
- Check equipment: Make sure spraying and watering tools are calibrated, working well, and looked after.
- Track resources: Monitor how much water and fertilizer are used and see how well crop protection is working.
- Follow rules: Enforce health, safety, environmental, and official certification standards.
- Keep files: Maintain accurate records and reports of daily operations.
Qualifications
- Education: A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, Agronomy, or a similar field.
- Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of experience managing crop protection and irrigation on a commercial farm (working with summer flowers is a plus).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of watering systems, plant feeding, crop protection products, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
- Traits: Proven leadership skills, good team management, and strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
