Every educator’s primary responsibility is to ensure student learning success and to provide for the individual learning needs of each student.
Core Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons based on ISK’s curriculum and pedagogical approaches, including:
- Inquiry-based learning
- Concept-based learning
- Regularly assess and evaluate student progress to inform teaching and learning.
- Recognize and address diverse learning needs, differentiating instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
Student Support & Development
- Provide guidance and support in both academic and personal development.
- Address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns as they arise.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse backgrounds and needs of students and their families.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain open communication with parents and keep them informed about their child’s progress.
- Engage in parent-student-teacher conferences.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
Professional Engagement
- Participate in and supervise an intercultural trip (2–4 days).
- Attend relevant departmental, divisional, and K–12 professional meetings.
- Assist with accreditation and authorization processes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and research-based practices.
- Implement the school’s Strategic Focus Areas (SFAs).
- Sponsor a minimum of one extracurricular student activity.
- Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the administration.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant subject area.
- Teacher certification from an accredited university or college.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in a multicultural setting.
- Demonstrated cultural proficiency and understanding of intercultural learning.
Skills
- Fluent English speaker with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Competent in using educational technology, including:
- Google Suite
- Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning.
