Every educator’s primary responsibility is to ensure student learning success and to provide for the individual learning needs of each student.

Teaching & Learning

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons based on ISK’s curriculum and pedagogical approaches, including:
  • Inquiry-based learning
  • Concept-based learning
  • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress to inform teaching and learning.
  • Recognize and address diverse learning needs, differentiating instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.

Student Support & Development

  • Provide guidance and support in both academic and personal development.
  • Address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns as they arise.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse backgrounds and needs of students and their families.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain open communication with parents and keep them informed about their child’s progress.
  • Engage in parent-student-teacher conferences.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.

Professional Engagement

  • Participate in and supervise an intercultural trip (2–4 days).
  • Attend relevant departmental, divisional, and K–12 professional meetings.
  • Assist with accreditation and authorization processes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and research-based practices.
  • Implement the school’s Strategic Focus Areas (SFAs).
  • Sponsor a minimum of one extracurricular student activity.
  • Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the administration.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Teacher certification from an accredited university or college.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching in a multicultural setting.
  • Demonstrated cultural proficiency and understanding of intercultural learning.

Skills

  • Fluent English speaker with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Competent in using educational technology, including:
  • Google Suite
  • Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning.
