Fracht Kenya Limited is seeking to recruit a highly competent, experienced, and results-oriented professional for the position of Head of Operations – Mombasa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, planning, supervising, and coordinating the company’s core operations activities to ensure efficient service delivery, operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, Strategy & Reporting

• Lead the planning, supervision, and monitoring of branch operations activities.
• Develop and review operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in negotiations with transporters, shipping lines, and CFS operators.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
• Coordinate cargo planning and execution in collaboration with the Branch Manager.

Operations Administration & Team Management

• Manage all activities, staff, and facilities related to shipping, customs declaration, transport, and port operations.
• Supervise staff performance and ensure timely completion of operational tasks.
• Coordinate staff leave schedules, delegation of duties, and operational workforce planning.
• Liaise with HR and management on staffing and welfare matters.

Financial & Asset Accountability

• Approve and monitor petty cash utilization within operations.
• Ensure proper accountability and documentation of operational expenditures.
• Oversee invoice verification and coordination with the Finance department.
• Ensure operational assets are properly maintained and accounted for.

Customs Brokerage & Export Control

• Ensure timely customs declarations, tax arrangements, cargo clearance, and delivery.
• Guide the operations team in resolving customs-related issues and queries.
• Attend customs meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure export cargo is delivered safely and within timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Administration, or a related field.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Customs Clearing and Freight Forwarding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience

• Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in operations within a reputable logistics company.
• Proven experience in team leadership and operational management.
