Job Summary:
The Head Barista / Barista is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages while delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced café environment. The Head Barista also plays a leadership role, overseeing daily operations, training junior staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring all drinks meet the café’s quality standards. This role is key to fostering a welcoming atmosphere and consistently excellent customer experiences.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of barista experience; leadership experience required for Head Barista role
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment (espresso machines, grinders, pour-over, etc.)
- Experience in a fast-paced hospitality or café environment
- Previous experience in GCC countries is an added advantage
- High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or barista certification is a plus
- Understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Skills:
- Coffee Expertise: Skilled in brewing, espresso preparation, and latte art
- Customer Service: Professional, friendly, and attentive to customer needs
- Leadership (for Head Barista): Capable of managing a team, training new staff, and supervising shifts
- Multitasking: Able to handle high-volume service without compromising quality
- Teamwork: Collaborates well with colleagues and supports a positive work environment
- Attention to Detail: Consistent in drink preparation, presentation, and cleanliness
- Problem-Solving: Handles customer concerns and minor technical issues confidently
- Communication: Clear and effective with both customers and team members
