Role Purpose:

The Group Strategy Director is the single point of accountability for enterprise-wide strategy. The role ensures that the company strategy is context-aware, decision-ready for the Board, actively executed, and consistently forward-looking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Framing and Board Advisory – Analyze internal and external business context including market trends, regulation, competition, technology, and risk. – Develop clear, decision-ready Board papers on strategic matters, scenarios, and strategic options. – Advise the Board and GMD on strategic trade-offs, prioritization, and opportunity sizing.
• Enterprise Strategy Ownership – Own and continuously refine the Group strategy framework. – Ensure alignment across products, countries, partnerships, and platforms. – Refresh strategic assumptions based on evidence and market signals.
• Strategy Execution Oversight – Translate strategic priorities into execution frameworks with clear KPIs and milestones. – Track progress across functions and countries. – Identify execution risks early and drive corrective action.
• Regulatory, Risk, and Compliance Integration – Monitor regulatory and compliance developments across operating markets. – Integrate Enterprise Risk Management into strategic planning. – Ensure strategies align with the Board-approved risk appetite.
• Strategic Portfolio and Prioritization Governance – Support Product Council and strategic investment projects in terms of priority announcements. – Ensure initiatives outside approved roadmaps are strategically justified and prioritized.
• Market Expansion and Growth Strategy – Lead strategic analysis for new markets, business & commercial models, and strategic partnerships. – Ensure growth initiatives are supported by execution and risk frameworks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Technology, or related analytical field
• MBA or Master’s in Strategy, Economics, Finance, or Technology Management will be an added advantage
• Experience operating at Group or regional level across multiple countries
• Experience in technology platforms, SaaS, digital products, health-tech or fintech-adjacent environment
• Has personally owned strategy execution, not only advisory or consulting roles
• Experience evaluating new markets, partnerships, and business models
• Strong analytical rigor, comfort with ambiguity, evidence-based decision-making
• Ability to influence country CEOs, product heads, and functional leaders without line authority
• Exceptional structured writing and executive communication
• Calm, credible, confident challenging of senior stakeholders
• Ability to convert complex issues (growth, risk, regulation, product trade-offs) into clear, decision-ready Board options and scenarios
• Translate strategy into priorities, KPIs, milestones, and execution tracking across functions and countries
• Continuous scanning of markets, competitors, technologies, and business models
• Ability to embed regulatory, compliance, and ERM considerations directly into strategic choices
• Strong initiative evaluation, ROI logic, and ability to say “no” credibly
