Role Overview

The Group Sales Manager plays a central role in driving commercial growth through strategic sales leadership, revenue generation, and business development across the Adaptis Group.

This position ensures that all sales activities are strategically planned, commercially aligned, and executed in line with defined business objectives. You will lead the development and execution of sales strategies, oversee the sales pipeline, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure consistent achievement of revenue targets across multiple subsidiaries and markets.

You will also be responsible for leading high-performing sales teams, improving sales effectiveness, developing strategic accounts, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth while aligning commercial initiatives with the Group’s long-term business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Growth & Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the Group’s commercial objectives. Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, developing market penetration strategies, and ensuring consistent achievement of revenue and profitability targets across all subsidiaries.
  • Sales Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams by establishing performance standards, providing coaching, and fostering a results-oriented sales culture. Drive accountability, continuous improvement, and effective utilization of sales methodologies and CRM systems to enhance overall team performance.
  • Pipeline Management & Opportunity Conversion: Establish and manage a structured sales pipeline across all business units and markets. Monitor lead generation, opportunity progression, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure while ensuring accurate forecasting, timely follow-ups, and improved conversion rates.
  • Strategic Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients, enterprise customers, and key decision-makers. Lead negotiations for high-value opportunities, identify opportunities for account expansion, and develop long-term customer partnerships that support sustainable revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Market Development & Commercial Intelligence: Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify emerging business opportunities and commercial risks. Conduct market analysis, support market expansion initiatives, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen the Group’s competitive positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Commercial Operations & Sales Governance: Ensure effective management of sales operations through structured sales processes, CRM governance, pricing strategies, commercial documentation, and sales reporting. Maintain compliance with company policies while improving operational efficiency across the commercial function.
  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product teams, and Business Unit Heads to align commercial objectives, improve customer acquisition and service delivery, and ensure successful execution of sales initiatives. Represent the Group in client engagements, strategic partnerships, networking events, and industry forums.
  • Performance Monitoring & Business Reporting: Develop and maintain sales dashboards, performance reports, and commercial forecasts to support data-driven decision-making. Monitor key sales performance indicators, evaluate commercial performance against targets, and recommend initiatives that improve sales productivity, revenue performance, and overall business growth.

Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Strategy, Marketing, or Commercial Management is an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Sales Management, Key Account Management, Strategic Selling, CRM, or Business Development are a plus.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in Sales, Commercial Leadership, Business Development, or Revenue Management.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a Sales Management or Commercial Leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and commercial growth targets.
  • Experience managing multi-country or Pan-African sales operations is highly desirable.
  • Experience in technology, consulting, SaaS, HRTech, ERP, business solutions, or professional services environments is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in leading sales teams, managing complex sales pipelines, and closing enterprise-level opportunities.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Zoho CRM, Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent sales management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of sales leadership, commercial management, and revenue growth strategies.
  • Experience in enterprise sales, key account management, and strategic business development.
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting, and sales analytics capabilities.
  • Ability to develop pricing strategies, commercial proposals, and deal structures.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed commercial decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the commercial function.
