Purpose of the Role

The Grant Intern will support the resource mobilization and grants management function by assisting in grant research, proposal development, donor reporting, and compliance processes within an NGO setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying grant and funding opportunities aligned with organizational programs
  • Support the preparation of grant proposals, concept notes, and budgets
  • Maintain and update the grants and donor database
  • Support monitoring of grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting schedules
  • Assist in preparation of donor reports in line with donor requirements
  • Liaise with program, finance, and M&E teams to gather grant-related information
  • Support compliance with donor guidelines, contracts, and internal policies
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of grant records
  • Perform any other duties assigned in support of the grants function

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Development Studies, Project Management, Economics, Finance, International Relations, or a related field
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in an NGO or development organization is required
  • Basic understanding of donor-funded projects and grant management processes
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Good organizational and communication skills
