Firefighter Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate firefighting application and communication equipment.
• Perform specialized functions in preparing and responding to fire and emergency calls in order to prevent and/or minimize loss of life, property or injury as a result of fire.
• Respond to emergency calls with utmost speed and efficiency.
• Safeguard their own and other people’s safety at all times.
• Assisting in rescue operation.
• Inspect, maintain appliances and equipment, ensure they are in good condition in accordance with county fire fighting policies and procedures.
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience:

• A holder of KCSE/ O level (Minimum of grade D+ Plus).
• Be a holder of a firefighting/rescue service certificate or relevant certificate from a recognized institution.
• Have a First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution.
• Have minimum three (3) year experience in fire-fighting and operation of fire-fighting equipment.
• Former members of the disciplined forces and the NYS who have undergone firefighting training or ex-fire fighters will have an added advantage.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate
• Computer literate.
