Job Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring fiscal compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to achieve program objectives. The position manages accounting processes, reporting, and budgeting while ensuring compliance with applicable financial policies and regulatory frameworks. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the preparation of all financial reports, statements, and analyses to ensure compliance with organizational policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with program goals, and monitoring expenditures to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. government and Amentum financial policies, while addressing contractual and fiscal requirements associated with U.S. Navy programs.
  • Supervising financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial closings.
  • Developing, coordinating, and implementing internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and prevent fraud or errors.
  • Providing financial guidance and support to operational teams to aid in decision-making, project planning, and the evaluation of cost efficiency.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborating with auditors to ensure successful compliance with internal and external audit requirements, as well as responding to audit findings.
  • Monitoring and managing cash flow, expenditures, and revenue to maintain financial stability and ensure program efficiency.
  • Conducting training for finance personnel to ensure compliance with internal controls, systems, and policies.
  • Providing support and recommendations to senior management on matters of policy, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in the government or defense contracting sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. government financial regulations (FAR, DFARS) and demonstrated experience working on U.S. Navy or DoD contracts.
  • Prior experience with financial management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Proven ability to manage large budgets, oversee diverse financial processes, and deliver timely performance and compliance reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year at the time of hire.
  • Ability to successfully meet contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager).
  • Experience working in austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environments or in a multi-national workforce setting.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Navy operations and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising finance professionals.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing cost-saving initiatives and improving operational efficiency.
