Job Overview
The Extruder Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce high-quality products. This role involves monitoring the extrusion process, adjusting settings, ensuring product specifications are met, and conducting routine maintenance tasks. The Extrusion Machine Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and overall safety within the manufacturing facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and prepare extrusion machinery for operation by loading raw materials and adjusting equipment settings based on product specifications.
- Operate extrusion machines to produce plastic or metal products according to established standards and guidelines.
- Keep accurate production and quality records.
- Monitor the extrusion process closely, making real-time adjustments to equipment settings to maintain product quality and output efficiency.
- Conduct regular quality checks on products being produced to ensure they meet required specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues or malfunctions that may arise during the production process to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on extrusion machinery, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Collaborate with the production team to coordinate material supply and ensure a steady flow of raw materials to the extrusion machine.
- Maintain accurate production records, including product counts, machine settings, and maintenance activities, to track productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and minimize workplace hazards.
- Assist in training new team members on the operation and maintenance of extrusion equipment.
Key Qualification
- Diploma or Advance Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Two (2) years proven working experience with PP Woven Extruder Machines or similar plastic extrusion equipment.
