Princeton Preparatory Schools, located in Gigiri Nairobi, Kenya, is a Christian school that embraces Montessori principles of self-directed activity, collaborative learning, mentoring, and peace within a prepared environment. We follow the Small Schools Initiative, enrolling fewer than 200 students to provide more individualized instruction in an intimate setting. Serving children from 18 months to 5th grade, our Christian-based international school community is informed by the Montessori Method but shaped by our unique community story.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Elementary Montessori Teacher in Nairobi County, Kenya. The teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing an inquiry / Montessori-based curriculum, facilitating self-directed learning, guiding collaborative activities, and fostering a nurturing and hands on Christ centered classroom environment. Additional responsibilities include ongoing communication with students, parents, and staff, as well as contributing to the school’s community and values.
Qualifications
- Curriculum Development and Teaching skills
- Experience in Elementary Education
- Strong Communication skills
- Knowledge and application of Education principles
- Certified in Montessori teaching methods is a plus
- Experience working in an international school community is a plus
- Experience woring with the Montessori Method, inquiry based curriculums, PYP and American curriculums is desired
- Ability to work in an inclusive, international Christian school community
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
