Electrical Engineer Job Kapa Oil

Reports To: Factory Manager
Key Outputs / Tasks:
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, control panels, and power distribution networks.
- Support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and automation systems to minimize downtime.
- Lead root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan electrical and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and external contractors.
- Drive energy efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Knowledge of solar inverters, battery storage, and hybrid grid-tied systems.
- Oversee the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems, including motors, drives, control systems, and power distribution networks.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and power distribution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Master’s will be an added advantage.
- Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
- Professional (CMRP) is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 6+ years’ experience in a busy manufacturing setup.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
Skills / Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of industrial power systems and automation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Project management capability.
- High attention to safety and compliance.
- Leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Microsoft Office.
