Job Description
As the dedicated E-Commerce Accountant, you’ll be at the financial helm of this thriving e-commerce and manufacturing business. Working with advanced platforms such as Cin7 ERP, Xero, Shopify, and Amazon, you will manage complex financial operations across multiple business entities. Your role will be crucial in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and providing valuable insights that drive business growth. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to shaping financial strategies in a rapidly expanding global company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records and support timely order fulfillment
- Manage complex journal entries, including import invoices with duties, taxes, and freight
- Prepare monthly financial reports (aged debtors, aged creditors, P&L statements)
- Generate split P&L statements for multiple retail stores and consolidate company performance
- Handle BAS (Australian GST) preparation and submission
- Manage payroll processes efficiently and accurately
- Ensure seamless integration between e-commerce platforms and the Xero accounting system
- Provide strategic financial insights to support business decision-making
- Optimize and streamline financial processes to support ongoing global expansion
Requirements
- CPA qualification preferred
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Experience in e-commerce accounting, particularly with Shopify and Amazon
- Familiarity with the Australian tax system and BAS preparation (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Excellent time management skills to meet daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively in a remote setting
- Adaptability to manage multiple business entities and complex financial structures
- Experience in inventory management and e-commerce bookkeeping
- Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning systems (Cin7 ERP an advantage)
