Description
This role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of staff, event equipment, supplies, and documents. The Driver is a key representative of the company while on the road and is expected to uphold the company’s image by adhering to traffic laws, maintaining cleanliness and serviceability of the vehicle, and offering courteous service.
Requirements
- Valid driving license (Class BCE or appropriate category)
- At least 2–5 years of driving experience
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
- Defensive driving certificate (added advantage)
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles
- First Aid certification (optional but preferred)
- Good knowledge of Kenyan road traffic laws and routes
- Strong communication and time management skills
Responsibilities
- Daily Transport Operations: Safely transport event staff, equipment, and official documents to event venues and other required destinations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily checks on assigned vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Errands and Deliveries: Support administrative errands such as banking, mail runs, pickups, and deliveries, maintaining timeliness and confidentiality.
- Company Image: Act as a professional representative of the company on the road, offering courtesy and reliability.
- Support Services: Provide full logistical transport support before, during, and after events, including setup and breakdown transport.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with the events and technical teams to ensure timely delivery and efficient transport planning for all event-related activities.
- Vehicle Efficiency: Ensure zero breakdowns due to negligence by conducting daily inspections and adhering to service schedules.
- Road Safety & Compliance: Observe all traffic laws and company policies related to driving and conduct on the road.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and polite service to all passengers and clients.
- Vehicle Cleanliness: Maintain the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition at all times.
- Learning & Development: Participate in company-provided driving, safety, customer service, and event logistics training when available.
