Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Served in the grade of Senior Assistant Director of Livestock Production for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Apiculture, Food Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Range Management, Natural Resources Management, Livestock/Agricultural Economics, Dairy Technology or Agriculture Education from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Animal Science, Animal Production, Agriculture, Apiculture, Food Science and Technology, Agribusiness, Range Management, Natural Resources Management, Livestock/Agricultural Economics, Dairy Technology or Agriculture Education from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer Application from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated a thorough understanding of national and county goals, policies, and development objectives and the ability to translate them.
