Summary: Director, Corporate Services at NCIC Directs finance, HR, ICT, corporate planning, and general operations. Requires Master’s in Business/Finance/HR, professional body registration, and 15+ years’ management experience. Full-time.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director, Corporate Services, will be responsible to the CEO for providing strategic leadership and direction in the provision of Corporate Services at the Commission. An officer at this level will be responsible for coordination and management of all the programmes and activities in the Directorate.

Specific duties and responsibilities will entail: –

  • Overseeing formulation, development, interpretation and review of Finance & Accounts, HR & Administration, Corporate Planning & Resource Mobilization, Corporate Communications and ICT policies, procedures, strategies, programmes, guidelines and standards;
  • Providing technical advice on matters pertaining to corporate services;
  • Overseeing provision of Finance & Accounts, HR & Administration, Corporate Planning & Resource Mobilization, Corporate Communications and ICT services;
  • Ensuring functional compliance of corporate services to statutory regulations;
  • Analyzing the Commission’s Finance & Accounts, HR & Administration, Corporate Planning & Resource Mobilization, Corporate Communications and ICT structures, processes and systems and recommending areas of improvement;
  • Initiating development of performance management and improvement strategies;
  • Overseeing administration and implementation of the Commission’s staff welfare programmes;
  • Overseeing preparation and implementation of the Commission’s personnel emoluments budgets;
  • Establishing and managing the Commission’s registries and ensuring safe custody of all records;
  • Coordinating office accommodation for the Commission’s staff;
  • Establishing and managing various information management operating systems;
  • Overseeing maintenance of up-to-date inventory of the Commission’s assets, equipment and facilities;
  • Coordinating Gender and Disability mainstreaming at the Commission;
  • Coordinating preparation of reports and responses to parliamentary questions;
  • Coordinating planning and budgeting for corporate services at the Commission;
  • Building capacity and managing performance of the Commission; and
  • Preparing annual reports of the Directorate.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this Grade an officer must have:

  • Fifteen (15) years’ cumulative experience, five (5) of which should have been in at least the grade of Deputy Director or in a comparable position; in any of the following areas: Human Resource Management and Administration, Finance and Accounts, Corporate Communication, Corporate Planning and Resource Mobilization, Supply Chain Management, Internal Audit, ICT or any other relevant comparable position.
  • Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Human Resource Management/Development, Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Management/Administration, Public Administration, Strategic management, Public Policy, Public Communications/Relations, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Internal Audit, ICT or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Human Resource Management/Development, Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Management/Administration, Public Administration, Public Communications/Relations, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Internal Audit, ICT or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Registered by a relevant professional body;
  • Certificate in Strategic Leadership/Corporate Governance Course or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Computer proficiency;
  • Met the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution; and
  • Demonstrated Managerial and professional competence in work performance and results.
