Our client is a leading appointed importer and distributor of various world leading alcohol brands. They are looking to hire a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Controller who will be responsible for ensuring the timely collection of customer payments, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining accurate customer account records in line with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring accounts are accurate and up to date
- Monitor customer credit limits and assess credit risk for new and existing customers
- Post and allocate cash receipts and perform account reconciliations
- Escalate high-risk or long-outstanding debts as appropriate
- Proactively chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence
- Resolve invoice queries and disputes efficiently, liaising with the sales teams
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Prepare regular aged debtor reports
- Recommend and implement actions to reduce overdue debt and bad debt exposure
- Produce week-end, month-end and Quartey reports
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures
- Liase with the advocates and debt collectors on any pending cases on litigation and provide all necessary documentation
- Any other job assigned
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable role
- Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practices
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- A professional and customer-focused approach
Qualifications
- Accounting or finance qualification (bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business or related field and CPA or equivalent)
- 4–5 years of experience in Credit Control or Receivables
- Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
- Knowledge of ERP or finance systems such as SAP, Sage, or QuickBooks
