Role Description
Reporting to the Country Director (CD) and Group Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO), this full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi, Kenya will lead the clinical operations of Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) across the country – Kenya. The Country Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered dialysis care through strong clinical governance, standardized protocols, and continuous quality improvement initiatives aligned with international standards.
The role will provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to multidisciplinary clinical teams while collaborating closely with physicians and cross-functional leaders to improve patient outcomes and operational excellence. As the primary clinical representative for AHN within the country, the successful candidate will drive clinical innovation, strengthen patient safety practices, and support the organization’s strategic growth in kidney care services.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Medicine (MBChB, MBBS, or MD).
- Must hold a post-graduate qualification in a clinical or administrative field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a clinical leadership or managerial role.
- Must be a licensed medical practitioner in good standing with the KMPDC.
- Advanced understanding of clinical practice guidelines, policy development, and health data analytics, and ability to perform catheter insertions safely and competently.
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with clinical and non-clinical teams
- Patient-centred attitude
