Our client is looking to hire a Core Banking System Support Staff responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the core banking system (CBS). This role ensures smooth banking operations by resolving system issues, supporting end-users, and coordinating with vendors for system upgrades and enhancements.

System Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide first-level and second-level support for core banking applications and related systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve system errors, transaction failures, and user access issues.
  • Monitor CBS performance, logs, and error reports to ensure system stability.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to third-level support or vendors when necessary.

User Support & Training

  • Assist bank employees with system-related queries and issues.
  • Conduct user training on new CBS features, security best practices, and system enhancements.
  • Maintain FAQ documents and knowledge base for common support issues.

System Maintenance & Upgrades

  • Support system patching, updates, and version upgrades.
  • Work with IT and vendor teams to implement system enhancements and new modules.
  • Conduct post-upgrade testing to ensure system functionality.

Database & Backup Management

  • Assist in database maintenance, backup, and restoration for core banking applications.
  • Run SQL queries for troubleshooting and reporting purposes.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with banking regulations.

Security & Compliance

  • Monitor system access and ensure proper authorization controls.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability assessments and security patching.
  • Assist in audit activities and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

Incident & Change Management

  • Maintain a ticketing system to track issues and resolutions.
  • Participate in incident management and disaster recovery planning.
  • Support change management procedures for system updates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in IT support, banking systems support, or financial application support.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
  • Experience in core banking systems will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of networking, security protocols, and system integrations (APIs, Web Services)
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems and server management.
  • Knowledge of banking operations, transactions, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) Service Management (incident, problem, change management) is an added advantage.
  • Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):
    • ITIL Foundation Certification (for service management)
    • Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database Certification
    • Cybersecurity-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM
