Job Summary

IRES is seeking an experienced Consultant Trainer – Electrical Engineering to deliver technical training, professional development programmes, workshops and electrical engineering consultancy assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technical training programmes in electrical engineering.
• Develop training materials, presentations, case studies and practical exercises.
• Facilitate technical workshops and professional learning sessions.
• Translate technical concepts and industry practices into practical learning.
• Provide technical input into training proposals, curricula and consultancy assignments.
• Provide technical advisory and subject-matter expertise on electrical engineering assignments.
• Keep training content current with relevant technologies, standards and industry practices.
• Assess participant learning and provide constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Relevant Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
• Registered and licensed by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
• Current membership of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
• Relevant professional certification in the consultant’s area of specialisation, where applicable.
• Demonstrated experience in professional training, facilitation, technical presentations or knowledge transfer.

Training & Facilitation Experience

• Experience delivering professional or technical training.
• Experience facilitating workshops, seminars or professional learning sessions.
• Ability to develop training materials and practical learning activities.
• Training of Trainers (ToT) certification is an advantage.

Consultancy Role Focus

• Technical training and consultancy in electrical engineering, including power systems, electrical installations, instrumentation and control, electrical machines, renewable energy, power electronics and related electrical engineering applications.

Mode of Engagement

• The Consultant Trainer will be engaged on a need basis for specific training and consultancy assignments. The scope, duration, deliverables and professional fees will be agreed before each engagement.
