Community developers NGO Job Invicta

NGO Jobs. Invicta

Invicta Child Foundation’s Invicta Libraries project is dedicated to establishing a network of accessible libraries, including fixed school libraries, community branch libraries, and mobile libraries. The project offers free tutoring and support to learners through trained volunteers and hired tutors, providing guided study sessions, homework help, reading clubs, and remedial support. This initiative targets children aged 5-18, especially those from low-income and underserved communities. By addressing limited access to reading materials, safe study spaces, and tutor support, the project aims to improve literacy and numeracy levels, school retention rates, academic performance, and long-term economic opportunities.

This is a volunteer role for Community Developers at Invicta Child Foundation. The Community Developer will be responsible for engaging with the community, managing community libraries, and supporting the development of accessible library networks. The role involves communicating with community members, training volunteers, and facilitating community development projects. This is a hybrid role located in Nairobi County, Kenya, with some work from home being acceptable.

  • Community Engagement and Community Management skills
  • Experience in Community Development and Training
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for education and supporting underserved communities
  • Experience working with children and young learners is a plus
