Clinical Officer – NCD & Pre-surgical Job City Eye Hospital

Key Responsibilities
- Manage patients with uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes.
- Stabilize patients for safe surgery within defined timelines.
- Track patients through the pre-surgical optimization pathway.
- Run a structured chronic disease clinic with strong continuity of care.
- Support patient adherence, follow-up, and long-term disease control.
- Work closely with theatre, OPD, pharmacy, and laboratory teams.
What Success Looks like
- Patients are stabilized and proceed safely to surgery.
- Reduced surgery cancellations related to uncontrolled medical conditions.
- Strong patient follow-up and continuity of care.
- Patients feel supported, informed, and well cared for.
IMPORTANT
This is not a general outpatient role.
The position requires:
- Strong clinical judgment.
- High personal discipline and consistency.
- Ownership and follow-through.
- Comfort working within structured systems and measurable targets.
- A patient-centred approach grounded in professionalism, compassion, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Registered Clinical Officer).
- Valid practicing license in Kenya.
- 5+ years’ experience in a busy medical outpatient setting managing hypertension and diabetes.
- Formal training in diabetes and hypertension management is an added advantage.
