We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.

LOCATION: BUSIA

Overall Responsibility

To provide comprehensive primary and clinical healthcare services to patients across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings, conducting medical assessments, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatment, and managing a broad range of medical conditions under the scope of practice defined by the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya, serving as a critical frontline healthcare provider within the hospital\’s care delivery model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and differential diagnosis.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with national clinical guidelines and evidence-based protocols.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments responsibly in line with formulary guidelines and rational drug use principles.
  • Order, interpret, and act on laboratory and diagnostic investigations appropriately.
  • Provide emergency and urgent care management, including stabilization and timely referrals when necessary.
  • Perform minor surgical and clinical procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all clinical encounters in patient records and electronic medical systems.
  • Implement and adhere to infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in all clinical procedures.
  • Ensure proper referral, follow-up, and continuity of care for patients requiring specialized services.
  • Report notifiable diseases and participate in disease surveillance in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Participate in pharmacovigilance by monitoring, documenting, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health measures, and lifestyle modification.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality, ethical standards, professionalism, and respect for patient rights at all times.

Job Qualifications & Skills 

  • Degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hospital or accredited healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and quality management systems
  • Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
