General Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing expert technical input to feasibility studies, design reviews, or infrastructure assessments or assignments
- Supporting project planning, implementation, and monitoring activities
- Advising on standards, methodologies, and innovations in rural infrastructure delivery
- Conducting field assessments, stakeholder consultations, and capacity development or training workshops
- Preparing technical reports, manuals, or policy guidance documents
- Ensuring that gender equality, environmental and sustainability concerns, safeguarding, and other cross-cutting considerations are integrated into all activities
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in civil engineering, transport planning, rural development, or related field
- Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in rural transport infrastructure or related sectors
- Demonstrated experience working in rural or remote areas and engaging with local community, government, and private sector stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset
- Commitment to Fika’s mission, values, and ethical standards, including safety, integrity, and inclusion
- Ability to work independently, remotely, collaboratively, and across cultures
