Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Business Analyst based in Nairobi County, Kenya. We seek a talented Business Analyst to deliver high-impact market analysis, bespoke research, case study development, and insightful business intelligence tailored to Africa’s diverse social, economic, and political contexts.

The role requires mastery in leveraging best-in-class technology for data analysis, report creation, and client collaboration, paired with creativity, excellent writing, and deep cultural and regional understanding.

  • Conduct rigorous market, political, social, and economic analyses across Anglophone, Francophone, and Lusophone African contexts.
  • Develop tailored case studies and pitch documents that convincingly demonstrate Sohubox’s value and expertise.
  • Employ advanced business analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Excel Power Query) to generate bespoke analytical reports supporting decision-making and client presentations.
  • Utilise collaborative platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Google Workspace) to share insights and facilitate smooth client engagement.
  • Apply situational awareness and creative problem-solving to anticipate challenges and innovate service delivery.
  • Produce clear, concise, and persuasive written materials demonstrating excellent writing skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Integrate knowledge of regional political, social, and economic dynamics to enhance relevance and impact of analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally with strategy and market solutions, stakeholders relationship management and engagement, digital and technology, media, creative studio and content development, advocacy and campaigns, and conferencing and event teams to enrich client solutions and internal knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills and proven ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets
  • Proficiency in Business Analysis, including process mapping, data modelling, and problem-solving
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in business analysis, market research, or consultancy, preferably focused on African markets and human/social development.
  • Proficient with industry-standard analytics and visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel); familiarity with CRM and project management software an advantage.
  • Strong skills in producing bespoke reports and pitch documents that support stakeholder decision-making and engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at tailoring messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and ability to apply technology-driven solutions to complex social and business challenges.
  • Deep understanding of the political, social, and economic realities in Anglophone, Francophone, and Lusophone Africa, with ability to contextualise insights accordingly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a consultancy environment, with great attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business and Strategy, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, Finance or a related fields
  • Previous experience in consulting or working with a focus on social, human and economic advisory and support initiatives is highly desirable
