Responsibilities
Design and build a blockchain indexing system that:
- Streams and parses blocks from blockchain nodes (Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, etc.)
- Tracks balances for monitored addresses
- Stores and serves normalized transaction history
- Implement secure, efficient APIs, including:
- Get Balance (confirmed and pending)
- Get Transactions (with pagination and filters)
- Support multiple chains through a generalized, pluggable architecture
- Ensure resiliency against chain reorganizations and block confirmations
- Integrate caching and persistence layers for fast API responses
- Deliver clean, production-quality code and documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in backend systems & distributed architectures
- Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or Rust
- Hands-on experience with blockchain nodes and RPC APIs (Ethereum, Bitcoin, etc.)
- Deep understanding of UTXO vs. account models and transaction indexing
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL (or equivalent) and Redis for caching
- Familiarity with Kafka, SQS, or equivalent message queues
- Strong knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes for deployment
- Prior experience with blockchain reorgs, confirmations, and high-volume data streaming is a plus
Deliverables
- Working blockchain indexer capable of:
- Backfilling historical block data
- Continuously ingesting new blocks in real time
- Maintaining balances and transaction histories for monitored addresses
- RESTful APIs including:
- GET /balance/{address}
- GET /transactions/{address}
- Scalable database schema & caching strategy
- Documentation covering architecture, deployment, and usage
