Thika Level 5 Hospital, managed by the County Government of Kiambu, is a public health facility located in Thika town. The hospital has a bed capacity of 467 and handles a daily outpatient workload of 800 – 1000 clients. It provides both general and specialized outpatient and inpatient services, serving the community with a wide range of healthcare needs.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Biomedical Engineer based in Nairobi. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all biomedical devices are functioning correctly. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting technical issues, calibrating biomedical instruments, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure equipment meets medical and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Skills in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering
- Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance
- Knowledge of Medical Equipment and its applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
