Responsibilities
The successful candidates will:
- Conduct routine maintenance in line with manufacturers’ recommendations and prepare the related compliance and calibration reports.
- Diagnose problems when machinery breaks down, decide the best repair methods and ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner.
- Service and replace faulty biomedical equipment
- Ensure timely response to the job requests from the various departments
- Recommend outsourcing of works that are beyond the scope of internal resources and supervise outsourced contractors on site
- Requisition and ensure adequate stocks of supplies and equipment in the stores
- Prepare the biomedical budget and monitor its implementation upon approval
- Maintain up to date records of maintenance costs, incidents and procedures
- Ensure adherence to the PPM schedule and health and safety standards
- Hold daily and weekly operational meetings.
- Prepare Biomedical Reports monthly
- Train other staff on how to maintain and use machinery.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should have a minimum of a Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospital setup.
- Experience with internal audits, Safecare Inspections or ISO inspections or JCIA inspections will be an added advantage.
- Registration with a professional body will be an added advantage.
