Vacancies: 2 positions: (1 AWS Training Coordinator) + (1 AWS Careers & Apprenticeship Coordinator).
Reporting To: Program Management Office,

The aim of the Ajira Digital Phase 2 program is to improve the livelihoods for young women and men, including persons with disabilities and refugees, through inclusive digital skills and employment, contributing to equitable growth and social transformation across the ASALs, rural and other marginalized communities.

Ajira AWS Training Coordinator: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the AWS re/Start training program virtually, ensuring participants, particularly young women, persons with disabilities, refugees, young people from ASAL regions, achieve certification and transition into cloud careers.
Ajira AWS Careers & Apprenticeship Coordinator: Responsible for supporting AWS re/Start graduates to transition to digital work opportunities through employer partnerships, career guidance, and job placement support, ensuring inclusive participation.

Program Planning and Coordination

  • Plan and organize virtual AWS re/Start training programs.
  • Schedule sessions, manage enrollment, and ensure adherence to program curriculum and objectives.
  • Coordinate Trainers and maintain effective communication with the Program Management Office and participants.

Trainee and Alumni Support

  • Provide career guidance, mentorship, resume writing, interview preparation, and job search support.
  • Track and support trainee performance, retention, and completion rates (target 80% completion).
  • Facilitate transition of trainees into digital work opportunities.

Employer Engagement and Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to secure apprenticeship, internship, and job placements.
  • Prioritize inclusive hiring practices benefiting women, refugees, ASAL youth, and PWDs.
  • Coordinate networking events, job fairs, and alumni engagement activities.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Track program performance, trainee progress, and alumni outcomes disaggregated by gender, refugee status, ASAL origin, and disability status.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the Program Management Office.
  • Conduct surveys and feedback assessments to maintain 90%+ satisfaction rates across all participant groups

Training and Certification Support

  • Assist Trainers in delivering high-quality AWS content, providing support for underperforming learners.
  • Organize mock exams, revision sessions, and certification preparation activities.

Recruitment and Outreach

  • Design and implement recruitment strategies for AWS programs targeting women, refugees, ASAL youth, and PWDs.
  • Conduct inclusive interviews and offer reasonable accommodations where requested.
  • Collaborate with community networks, institutions, and organizations to expand reach.

Continuous Improvement

  • Document success stories, especially of women, PWDs, refugees, and ASAL youth.
  • Provide recommendations to strengthen training outcomes and career linkages.
  • Stay updated on labor market trends and cloud technology requirements.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform duties diligently and act in the best interests of the Ajira Digital Program.
  • Maintain good relations with stakeholders, community partners, and local authorities.
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of skills and experience as assigned by the Program Management Office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Sciences, Project Management, Human Resources, or related field.
  • AWS Certified (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner) or equivalent practical AWS/cloud experience (for Trainer roles).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in training, youth development, career guidance, or program coordination.
  • Experience in building employer partnerships and supporting job placements for youth or graduates.
  • Familiarity with virtual program delivery and remote coordination is an advantage.
