Assistant Welder Job Kenchic Nairobi, Kenya
OVERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair metal structures, machinery, and equipment in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements, ensuring reliable operation of Hatchery equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut, shape, fit, and weld metal components using appropriate welding techniques.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair machinery, equipment, pipelines, and structural components based on technical drawings and work instructions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and technical specifications.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of welding machines, tools, and related equipment.
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities requiring
- fabrication or welding support.
- Identify damaged or worn-out metal parts and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with workplace housekeeping standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of welding equipment, gases, and consumables.
- Strictly adhere to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), fire safety, environmental, and company Biosecurity requirements at all times.
CANDIDATES PROFILE
- Certificate or Diploma in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Valid welding certification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in welding and fabrication within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
- Sound knowledge of welding processes, metal properties, fabrication techniques, and workshop tools.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and measuring instruments.
