Requirements for appointment:-
- Diploma in Library Studies or Information Science or their recognized equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade C or its equivalent qualification with at least a C in either Mathematics, English or Kiswahili; and
- Proficiency in computer applications
Duties and Responsibilities: –
- Prepare materials for binding;
- Shelf arrangement;
- Provision of reference services to readers.
- Assist in the organization, classification, and cataloguing of library materials.
- Charge and discharge Library materials.
- Facilitate the acquisition and processing of new library resources
- Issue and receive library materials to and from users
- Assist library users in locating and accessing information resources
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and inventory
- Support digital library and e-resource access initiatives
- Provide basic IT support for library users and staff
