Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Assistant Accountant to join our restaurant’s finance team. In this role, you will support the restaurant’s daily financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reconciliations, and smooth cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile daily POS reports against actual cash, credit card, and mobile payments; quickly resolve any variances.
- Verify, log, and process vendor invoices for food, beverage, and utility suppliers while maintaining accurate vendor statements.
- Assist with periodic physical stock takes and compare counts against system data to help track food and beverage costs.
- Assist in preparing and filing statutory returns such as VAT/sales tax to ensure full regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA Part II) are a distinct advantage.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality, restaurant, or retail sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems is highly desirable.
