Key Responsibilities
- The all-volunteer Board of Directors is responsible for the effective governance of the organization and holds the Executive Director accountable for CFK Africa’s mission and vision.
- Safeguard the mission of the organization.
- Oversee implementation of the 2025-2030 strategic plan and organizational planning.
- Ensure strong fiduciary oversight and financial management.
- Fundraising and resource development.
- Enhance the organization’s public image.
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity.
- Maintain a connection to and presence in the Kibera community.
Preferred Skills
The ideal candidate will share our passion for empowering youth in slums.
Essential expertise includes:
- 5+ years of executive experience in your respective career field.
- Expertise in digital technology, communication networks, AI, tech innovations, entrepreneurship and/or healthcare.
- Prior board experience with a CBO, NGO, or private enterprise.
- Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders and policy makers.
- Strong ties to East Africa.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring CFK Africa’s long-term sustainability.
- Alignment with CFK Africa’s vision, mission, and values.
