Position Overview

JENGE Village is recruiting an experienced Senior Accounting & Tax Associate to provide strategic oversight, quality assurance, and advanced accounting and tax compliance support to our members. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience who can mentor junior associates while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and optimal financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide regular oversight to Accounting & Tax Associates.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, and accounting records for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Develop accounting procedures, templates, and standard operating procedures.
• Mentor and train Accounting & Tax Associates on best practices and technical skills.
• Prepare complex financial statements and management reports with analysis.
• Advise members on advanced accounting services.
• Manage complex tax situations including multi-jurisdictional issues, complex deductions, and tax audits.
• Provide guidance on tax-efficient business structures and transactions.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on business performance.
• Handle escalated accounting or tax issues requiring expert advice.
• Coordinate workflow distribution among Accounting & Tax Associates.
• Manage company assets, insurance, and audit documentation.
• Advise on internal controls and financial risk management.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities on behalf of members.
• Ensure compliance with changes in tax law and accounting standards.
• Review and optimize chart of accounts and accounting systems setup.
• Prepare responses to tax authority inquiries and notices.
• Support business decision-making with financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CPA-K, or equivalent) required or in progress.
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Expert knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, accounting standards, and best practices.
• Deep understanding of tax law, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Expert proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Full professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CPA-K, or equivalent).
• Experience in public accounting or advisory practice.
• Knowledge of international tax and transfer pricing.
• Expertise in specific industries or sectors.
• Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization.
• Project management or process improvement experience.
• Training or mentoring certification.
• Knowledge of forensic accounting or fraud examination.
