Role description

Sequid Hardware Limited is seeking a CPA-certified Accountant to join our growing team on a full-time, on-site basis in Nairobi County, Kenya. This role is ideal for a results-driven finance professional with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, budgeting, and tax compliance, preferably within the hardware or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform day-to-day bookkeeping
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and reconciliations
• Reconcile bank statements, customer accounts, and supplier accounts
• Monitor budgets, track expenses, and analyze variances
• Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to support management decisions
• Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Support audits and ensure adherence to internal financial controls
• Ensure proper use and optimization of accounting systems, including Zoho Books

Qualifications & Requirements

• CPA Certification minimum (mandatory)
• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance
• Experience with Zoho Books or similar ERP’S (mandatory)
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks knowledge is an added advantage)
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior experience in the hardware or construction industry is an added advantage
