Accountant Job Anti-FGM Board

Looking for an accounting job in Kenya? Anti-FGM Board is hiring an accountant to manage financial records, support budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The role is based in Nairobi and a CPA qualification is required.

Key Responsibilities

• maintaining primary records such as cashbooks and ledgers;
• posting of vouchers and other deductions;
• preparing vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid down rules and regulations;
• filling statutory returns;
• preparing payment transactions;
• preparing bank transfers for payment; generating trial balance;
• verifying authorizations of payments as per the Board’s authorized sign preparing cash flow forecasts;
• ensuring proper filling of accountable documents;
• handling daily transactions for petty cash;
• data capturing and maintenance of primary records such as cashbook, ledgers, vote book, register;
• reconciling supplier statements as received;
• preparing simple management reports issuing of cheques and posting payments and receipts vouchers in the cash book.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration (Accounting Option) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its equivalent; and
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
