Requires a relevant Master’s degree, with a PhD an added advantage depending on the discipline, and relevant university teaching experience where specified. The position is based in Busia and requires on-site work.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting/Finance from a recognized and accredited university.
• Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance from a recognized and accredited university.
• At least three (3) years of university teaching and research experience at the level of Tutorial Fellow/Assistant Lecturer or three (3) years’ experience in research or in industry.
• Minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points, of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal papers.
• CPA (K) Certification.
• Registered with a relevant professional body, preferably ICPAK.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, innovation, mentorship, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and implement curricula in line with CUE standards and emerging trends.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting/Finance.
• Initiate and undertake research, innovation, and resource mobilization.
• Publish scholarly work in refereed journals.
• Provide academic mentorship and student support.
• Participate in quality assurance, examination moderation, and academic administration.
• Serve on university committees and undertake community engagement, consultancy, and outreach.
