Job Description

  • Implement project activities, generate project reports, and analysis of project activities
  • Support the preparation of the project expenditure budget and input towards the financial report
  • Oversee administrative duties within the project including data management
  • Work with the finance team to ensure strict financial compliance in project accountability Develop strategic partnerships and collaboration with other local, county, and national advocacy organizations and coalitions to deliver common goals relating to areas of common interest
  • Represent the project/Y+ Kenya in meetings, forums, seminars, conferences, and related meetings locally, regionally and nationally and as necessary, including with policy makers in line with the project.
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the program manager/CEO.
  • Ensure all programme interventions are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
  • Review, analyze, and report on previous and current data for the community actors.
  • Use the data generated by the project to develop a strategy for elevating the youth programmes to a higher level.
  • To create a close working relationship and develop a partnership with the MoH to gather information on HIV- Care, Prevention , Treatment and support, SGBV, STIs etc.
  • Review, update, and share the framework and ensure the successful rollout and implementation of all design, monitoring, and evaluation for the project
  • Undertake Capacity Building for communities on M&E , including the Tools and a data gathering frameworks required for the project
  • Work closely with other staff in the organization and without in ensuring internal and external program reports demonstrate change by documenting and disseminating, lessons learned and best practices

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, project management, Social work, education, communication, development studies, or equivalent/A minimum of a Diploma in Public health, project management, social work, Development studies, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of working experience implementing Health projects, experience working with HIV/TB interventions will be an added advantage
  • Have experience managing community projects and working with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation techniques and practices including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A certification in monitoring & evaluation will be an added advantage
  • Track record of ability to plan work and develop strategy for growth – must take a strategic approach to all work, everything must be planned to advance the level of
  • impact of the project.
  • Experience in grant writing/reporting to funders. The individual must have experience in building relationships with funders and compiling formal reports.
  • Experience working on community projects.
  • The individual must understand the potential problems associated with working in the community and have clear experience in successfully working in the community and/or with PLHIV
  • Leadership and Teamwork; Must be flexible and able to lead and work as part of an already established team.
  • Should be a person of high integrity and able to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Be able to work with professionalism and minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Y+ Kenya Working Conditions

  • The position involves the need to implement the project in Busia focusing on Adolescent girls and young women in their diversity. There may be periods that require the job holder to work odd hours when necessary to meet deadlines or respond to specific situations.
