How many times do we give up especially when our efforts don’t yield results?
How do you turn from the ‘verge of giving up to becoming self-sufficient?
It is said that the darkest part of the night is almost at the dawn. Does this means that when you are almost giving up in your job search is when the doors are unlocked?
For Daniel Kiprono, his job search process was not the course for the faint-hearted but he was resilient and pressed
on despite unsuccessful applications. He came across this Mill Manager Job for our client, Kilimambogo Millers, he applied and he stood out from the competition.
Here is his story.
Tell us about yourself. What is your professional qualification? Your years of experience?
My name is Daniel Kiprono, I am a Biomechanical and processing Engineering engineer by profession with 6 years of experience in the industry.
I am a self-driven, hardworking, and committed individual. My goal is to shape a dynamic future by utilizing my professional expertise especially in the field of bio-processing.
How long have you been looking for a job?
I can say that my job search has been a continuous process because I have been looking for a better position.
In 2015, I got my first job, and ever since I have been looking for something better, greener pasture to say so. Who doesn’t want better pay? Bigger title and promotion? Of course, we all don’t want to be in our comfort zone. We look for challenging positions.
I have been aspiring to be someone better in my field, improve my leadership skills, handle more complex and challenging work-related issues and provide solutions to the challenges.
The work environment is dynamic and keeps evolving and I challenged myself to be updated with emerging trends and keep up with changes.
How has your job search experience been like?
My job search has never been rocket science, especially during the early stages of my career. I can say 99.9% of my applications went unanswered, but I kept pushing and became resilient.
Are there any specific challenges you encountered in your job search process?
I think the main challenge that cuts across is the shallow experience that I had hence many of my job applications were not considered.
Where did you hear about Corporate Staffing and the job opportunity? And would you recommend Corporate Staffing to anyone?
I am an active follower of career-point Kenya, which is a sister partner to Corporate Staffing Services. Through this, I learned about Corporate Staffing because of the adverts posted on their website. I gave it a try and that was it. I would highly recommend candidates to apply for jobs through Corporate Staffing because the process is transparent.
How were the application and interview process?
The recruitment process at Corporate Staffing Services was fair, elaborate, and pegged on merit. I loved their communication because it is prompt and I believe every candidate gets satisfied at the end.
Did you think you would get the job?
I didn’t know that I was going to get the job, we were quite a number and the competition was very stiff. I can only say my experience and confidence in the way I answer my questions gave me an edge over my other colleagues
Many professionals continue to look for jobs. What is your advice to them?
My advice to any job seeker is to ensure that their CV is professional and tailored towards the job they are applying for. It should clearly express the experience and their quantified achievements. Also never give up because even with tough times, those who become resilient will succeed.N.B: 1.Dont Miss Out On Your Next Job. Let's Have Your CV. Upload Your CV Here. NB: 2.
