Job Summary:
The County Public Service Board Wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons on permanent and pensionable terms to fill the following positions in the department of Health Services.
Duties and responsibilities
- decontaminating working benches;
- receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens;
- preparing clients for collection of specimen;
- receiving,collecting, labelingandregisteringofspecimens;
- examining specimens;
- writing and recording of results;
- dispatching the results for use in clinical management;
- preparing stains;
- performing blood grouping: issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities;
- storing blood products according to their requirements.
- support quality management systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts
- Strong commitment to in-patient and out-patient care of patients
- Respond to emergency calls
- Any other relevant duty and responsibility within the County Health Department
Qualifications
- Diploma in medical laboratory sciences from recognized and accredited Training Institution
- Registration certificate from with the KMLTTB
- Practicing License from the KMLTTB
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized
