This is a full-time, on-site position located in Mombasa County, Kenya, for an experienced Machinist. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machining tools and equipment. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, setting up machines for production, conducting quality checks to ensure precision, and adhering to safety and operational protocols. The Machinist is also expected to collaborate with fellow team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production schedules.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling equipment
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Knowledge of machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques
- Adherence to workplace safety standards and practices
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently within a team-oriented environment and meet deadlines
- Formal training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage
