Yanah Pharmacy is recruiting a Cashier / M-Pesa Attendant to join its team at the Roasters branch in Kenya. This is a full-time Entry Level position suitable for candidates with relevant pharmacy retail experience. The role sits at the intersection of customer service and financial transactions, handling cash payments, mobile money processing, and point-of-sale operations in a high-volume pharmacy environment.
As a Cashier / M-Pesa Attendant Job at Yanah Pharmacy, you will be responsible for managing daily transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing efficient service to customers during peak and off-peak hours. The position requires someone who can work accurately under pressure while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Process cash transactions and M-Pesa mobile money payments from customers at the point of sale
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, reconciling daily totals with records
- Operate the pharmacy’s point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Provide courteous service to customers and address payment-related enquiries
- Maintain records of all transactions and prepare end-of-day reports
- Handle customer complaints related to billing or payment issues professionally
- Assist with inventory management and stock verification as required
Requirements & Qualifications
- KCSE qualification at C plain grade or better
- A minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience working in a busy pharmacy setting
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service
- Proficiency in computer systems and point-of-sale software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to handle cash and mobile money transactions with accuracy
- Reliability and punctuality in a retail environment
