Academic qualifications
- Certificate lasting not less than two (2) years in any of the following disciplines: – Animal Health, Animal Health and Production, from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies
- Professional registration and retention with Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Certificate in Computer application skills
- Previous relevant work experience required.
Responsible for animal health, control, welfare and veterinary extension services at ward level under the guidance and supervision of veterinary surgeon.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
Operational Responsibilities / Tasks
- Carry out simple treatment of animals
- Participate in disease search and reporting
- Demonstrate on external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying and dusting
- Carry out vaccination: and undertaking closed castration, dehorning, de-worming, disbudding, docking, debeaking and hoof trimming.
- Issuance of movement permits
